★ ★ ★ ★ ★ the worst embassy that i have ever been to. inefficient visa service. one time i was trying to make tourist visa. i provide all the documents listed on their website. so i went to the office and they told me i need to bring more documents in. which werent exactly clear, they didnt provide any information on what kind of document that i need to get even though i already asked. hence i googled it, get the docs and sent it to them. several days later "visa got rejected". another time i was trying to close my blocked german bank account. they told me to bring in only the confirmation letter, so i did, when i got there, they told me i need to bring my student visa withdrawal letter even tho i dont have it. this is when my frustration came in and wrote this review.

This is an Embassy represent Germany and help German people in Indonesia for documents and other matters and also for Indonesia people to deal with documents, visas, permits, etc.
This is an old and classic building renovated many times but maintains the structure as it is for ages.
I came to this building many times for taking pictures of this Embassy premises on behalf of the building contractor, then for travel document handling.
The standard procedure as other Embassies you have to wait outside until your queuing number mentioned by the security guard. As soon you are inside the process is so easy and quite fast then wait and come back later in days to get approval or rejection.
The place is clean and neat with nice staff and officers,

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a very bad experience on using the phone service of the visa section. The male staff was very rude, provided little to no information, and got mad for no reason. I was only asking for an information about my visa appointment and his reply was "it's all on the website". After I asked for an explanation, he got mad out of nowhere. That is not the way you talk to a person, especially when you are working at an embassy. In my opinion, a big and renowned embassy like German embassy should not have hired a rude person like this in the first place. I hope that the embassy could once again evaluate its workers and hire more competent staffs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am the very first to complain. The very first. I am a real difficult customer. It is what it is.
But hey, let's praise where praise is due. The Germans came through for me. Old fashioned traditions of reliability, efficiency and looking after one's own are still very welcome these days. Very welcome to me at least. Plus, these days communications are great and the staff is actually friendly and efficient.
Thumbs up! Double thumbs up.
The building could be nicer, but hey, it does the job. Keep up the good work! Germany can be proud of you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ if i could give zero stars i would, have been trying to call the embassy now for several days, which included getting up in europe at 5 or 6 am in the morning but it is absolutely impossible to reach anyone via phone- there is a tiny prelude of classical music and you will be informed to call at a later time- what a incredible waste of time and that you are not able to call your own embassy if your having important questions is beyond me especially considering the fact that the dutch embassy not only reacts on mails but has a 24 hour calling service which they pick up

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really bad persepsi just because i have no job already judge me will not come back again to my country, and say doubt my bad economy and sosial and bla bla bla. So that's why i do with Verpflichtungserklärung, and already judge i will stay in Germany FOREVER, what i want is just TO meet my boyfriend and his family for a month, and i will definitely back again to my country , and i already make sponsor, for what then sponsor take the risk for me? If that not important documents why should wasting money, time and paper for make Verpflichtungserklärung . If you do just worry i will not Comeback again why still should get the money after rejected my VISA, or just think about money? Or just think just reach people can go there? That's really racist even rich people could be stay legal in Germany . I hope the person who ignore my visa can feel what i feel :) !
