I went to the Hungarian Embassy today, and it was a very unpleasant experience. I was submitting outstanding documents (all of the documents which Lady number 1 told me to bring today on the previous day). 1. I came in, through security and stuff, and Lady number 2 UNNECESSARILY and RUDELY shouted "Who let you in?!" I was shocked but i kept my cool and replied "The securities", and then i just stood there, afraid to make a move and then she made a call (which i think to the security guys) and was angry at them probably because they let me in. I DID NOT KNOW that that day was a NO VISA DAY. I was just doing what Lady Number 1 told me to do on the previous day. 2. I took my seat, and waited for my turn (there was only me and 1 other guy from a travel agent already at the counter). When it's my turn already, again she shouted "MBAK!" okay, i kept my cool, AGAIN, and proceeded to the counter. 3. Me : "These are the outstanding forms from yesterday, the scanned application form fro...." (not even finished with my sentence then she cut me) Lady Number 2: "What?! Scanned? who told you to bring a scanned one??!" (Again, i am not exaggerating, but she was unnecessarily rude and i was this close to losing it) Me: "Lady number 1 told me yesterday, because the parent is in NY" (My Boss' daughter was "underage"((This is also the thing that i don't understand. She's 18, had her 18th birthday last September. If the form says "Children 18 and under" then she's a child. But it says "Children under 18", so who's the idiot?)), and the application form needs to be signed by both parents, unlucky me, My Boss was in NY) LN2: "Do you have proof he is in NY?!" Me: Starting to lose my cool, i talked back; "you don't need to be rude you know" Whilst looking at my boss' ticket which i couldn't find at the end because it's on my work mail and i don't have access for it on my phone LN2: "I am not rude! this is how i am supposed to talk to!" (2 things that i failed to comprehend; 1. why on earth she insisted she needed the proof of my Boss' whereabouts and told me JUST NOW, if she told me the day before i would've shown up prepared! like why would we complicate things for our own good??? 2. i find it so often that Local Staff here at embassies are very HOSTILE towards locals. Why? We are applying for visa. WE PAID THE SAME AMOUNT AND FOLLOW THE SAME PROCEDURE AS OTHERS to ENTER THOSE COUNTRIES) As the excruciating document checking continues, i just stood there and be as cooperative as i could. After she finished checking, she told me to leave, without even looking at me; Me: "Ada nomor aplikasinya Mbak?" LN2: "Nomor aplikasi apa ya?" Me: "Nomor Aplikasi pengambilannya?" LN2: "Nanti di-email" Me: "Pengambilannya bisa diwakilkan?" LN2: "Nanti di email" (who the hell can understand if this answers my question? and as if she would die just to give a "yes" or "no") Me: "Apakah perlu surat kuasa?" (My questions were basic questions, and i was just asking for a PROPER PROCEDURE rather than being given a FALSE ONE and treated like i'm the idiot who showed up at a NO VISA DAY) LN2: "NANTI DI EMAIL DIJELASKAN MBAK! BACA AJA" Me: i was completely speechless. As a proper human being, i just made my way out after politely replied "Have a good day".

Super friendly and helpful staff. They really try to assist you as best as they could and just really nice in general. It's not like any other embassy where they're cold and rude, this one is welcoming while maintaining complete professionalism. Wonderful country! Go Hungary!!!

Can't agree more with the previous review: "super friendly and helpful staff", indeed! I can really feel that they are trying to help us. I also saw their staff telling other visa applicant kindly, when their document was not complete. There's no parking space for visitor so the best idea is to use public transportation or taxi or gojek/grab/uber. If you want to apply for visa you have to come in person because you'll have to take biometric at the same day. Notes: they only accept visa fee by bank transfer.

One of the best Services given by Embassies in Jakarta. The Staffs are very kind and completely different from what other's bad reviews said. They all are professional, smart and friendly. Even the securities, they know how treat people (guests) properly and very cooperative. LOVE THIS OFFICE SO MUCH !

Fast service. Opens at 9ish, and accepts visa applications on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Best to arrive there as early as possible (right at 9 should be fine) otherwise the queue might take a long time
