★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went on a Jeep-tour around the Merapi vulcano. We went to see a museum that once was a village before the eruption of 2010. There you can get a feeling of the horror it must have been for the villagers when the eruption happend.
Our driver Andi was a great guy, although his English was below average, patient and was more than willing to take some photos. The bunker itself is not that impressive, but the story behind it together with the fabulous views (when it's not to cloudy...) are a things you will never forget!

Transportation go there by jeep and must have an adventurous spirit and withstand shocks while riding a jeep tossed back and forth. Lots of gravel, sand and ash from Merapi, and must wear masks and glasses.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Epical place, a must to see spot when you go to Jogja, get the road via kali kuning, northern road is for jeep. Some sand trucks crossing this road.

The view is beautiful you couldn't imagine that years ago a horrible natural disaster ever happened here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The second time here the atmosphere in the Kaliadem bunker is still scary. Considering that in 2010 there were two volunteers who died in this bunker.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the first time I've come here, even though I've often gone back and forth on Merapi tours. I'm quite interested in the story behind this Kaliadem bunker, but I think it needs to be fixed to make it cleaner and more well-maintained. Above the bunker, also quite interesting if you climb. If the weather is sunny you can take a photo with the Mount Merapi spot behind it. Unfortunately when I came, the weather was a little cloudy. You don't need to worry, around the location there are those who sell souvenirs but I'm quite interested because there are those who sell dried edelweiss flowers which are quite difficult to get. Besides that there are public toilets as well and several places to sell drinks.
