★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is 2 branches of Bubur Kwang Tung that I know and the one in Pecenongan is the first one, also the one that I like to go. The seafood poridge is delicious and it's not gonna be complete without the cakwe.
The place is open until late at night (or 24 hours maybe), so its a great option for you whose starving in the middle of the night after hang out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place to have late supper or porridge. The portions are fairly large and the food here taste good. Porridge here is thick and not watery. My personal favourite is the steam squid. Super love it!!???? This place was previously re-renovated and the restaurant looks really good. Prices have been slightly increased but the quality of food have not dropped since i first eaten here many years ago. Good for after party food or dinners. Will not miss this place if i'm in jakarta.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bubur Kwang Tung offers various Chinese food especially congee. To note that their congee came in a big portion. Each portion could probably feed up to 4 people.
Kwang Tung is a typical Chinese restaurant where they have a circular table with spinning platform on the center of the table for ease of access to the food by everyone.
We had their beef congee and seafood congee. The seafood congee contain cutlets of octopus, shrimp and other seafood goodness. Their beef congee also contains a generous amount of beed cutlets.
I recommend for you to get other food for congee, get their cakwe, get their stir fry vegetables, get everything!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would gladly give 4 stars for the food although roasted duck is too dry for our liking.
But the hungry me was unimpressed with their service. We ordered our food and 10 mins later they served roasted duck (1/2 duck) but the rest (porridge and hotplate veggie)was served another 30 mins later. Tried to find a waiter but we were like invisible to their eyes. I hate to raise my voice, i had to get up from my table and call for them. The table next to ours arrived after we finish ordering. But by the time our porridge was served, they have finished their dinner and asked for bill. Fantastic! (If you zoom the photo, please help us find our duck's drumstick & wing. Half duck but no wing nor drumstick???!!)

During normal time, this place open for 24 hours, 7 days a week. There are only a few options of menu with the porridge as the most famous offering.
It comes in a big bowl, better to be consumed by two people. The taste is simply delicious, even the plain porridge, before we mix up with various of condiments. Try the black egg called Telur Pitan. These eggs are processed for long, hence the black color and tastiness.
The price is quite high, but worth every cent. Enjoy the culinary experience..
