★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very unique restaurant in the middle of the city. The place is always packed and is a favorite go to for the office workers nearby.
If you see it from the outside, you wouldn't expect that the place is as huge as it is. It even has a pool inside.
The warung offers hundreds of menu. Price is cheap. Taste is nice. Food wise, it's not special, but the vibe of the place is something.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ do not mistake by the lobby entrance appearance of this warung. once you entered, you will welcomed with spacious old javanese vintage ambience. the warung is full vintage decorations, split into two areas, smoking and non smoking areas. the outside space is luashy, shaded with some big trees. they served various of traditional buffet, they main stars among s ayam sambel setan which has three variant levels of spice, low, medium and level setan. they also have some types of soup with rawon is they highly recommends.
a bit crowded during lunch time. things to improves are the cleanliness of the place and in the toilet. fast service and helpful staffs. they accept cashless payment. small parking lot. nice warung to have lunch and finish it with their kopi susu bu lurah and call it a day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good traditional mid javanese food and ambient, there is live music using kecapi on lunch time singing west and mid javanese song. A good friendly service they serve along with quick preparation for the meal you order (I order like 15 items include FnB and all of them prepared in table less than 15 minutes)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My favorite javanese restaurant in Jakarta. Love the nasi uduk with the fried onion, ayam setan, ayam wewe, sambel demit, ikan wader, terong. Pricey but I really love the food. Still worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place looks like a small restaurant from upfront, with its small parking space, but once you got in you'll be surprised. But hey don't worry about parking, they provide FREE valet service.
The place, is a refurbished old house, they kept most of the essentials as it was such as doors,walls and high ceiling. Inside is like a time machine full of trinkets from time gone by, I had so much fun with my daughter, she was trying to guess every odd thing she saw here (imagine how to explain a stamp for the new generations). There's a set of Javanese puppet dolls (wayang kulit), a collection of baseball caps, butterfly collections, etc.
The food is tasty! They use only free ranged chicken, cooked well, not to crispy but the seasoning sipped well into the meat. Seriously lots of selection of food! What I don't recommend is the krecek. The rest like, selections of chickens, ducks, lungs (yes cow's lung), Tempe,tofu, ribs, meat soup, and all other selection my big fan ordered, were good!
My family was seated in semi outdoor seating, in front of the coffee stall,which I think is the best seat to listen to the life music of traditional Javanese songs and easy to order drinks and food. They have outdoor seating near the shallow pool at the back.
I really recommend this place for you who want to feel a bit of Javanese culture such as food and songs (tembang).

Before the pandemic era, the MJS is a place to stop by waiting for 3in1. now maybe it will be a different story because it has turned into odd-even.
Its vintage concept with a traditional Javanese atmosphere instantly makes the heart feel comfortable. The presentation of okulele and bass sounds as residence music. Make u feel like home.
For the price it depends on how much you want to eat, but what is clear is that it won't be more expensive than eating at pizza hut or fast food restaurants.
