★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have stayed here for 2 months now and have still 3 months to go. However, I am really not looking forward to those months in this hotel. If you are a backpacker who plans to stay in Kemang for only a few days, Urbanite is perfect. It is on a great location (restaurants, bars etc. nearby) and the hotel itself isn`t to busy. But if you plan to stay for a longer time: Stay away from this hotel!
Although the location is great, mostly the service is really bad. The people who run the hotel can not speak english which causes a lot of miscommunication. They provide a laundry service for a reasonable price and time, 3 or 4 days. However, the laundry stays away more than 7 days most of the time! So be prepared for that! But the worst part is the stealing! One of the ladies cleans the rooms every now and then. She made a mess of my room and stole some basic stuff I needed. This wasn`t the worst, but other people in the hotel lost a mobile phone, clothes and more.
The stealing extends to the kitchen. In the hotel there is a public kitchen, of very poor quality. There is almost nothing to cook with and it is far from clean. There is one fridge in the hotel, which is also public. If you put something in there with a note that it is yours, it should be no problem to store some food there. However, your food will get systematically stolen in the hotel. One day some eggs, the other day some milk, a guest even got half of his cake stolen.
Other than that, the rooms are really dirty and half of the time there is something wrong with the airco or the water, which becomes really annoying after a few times.
All these downsides make the hotel really bad and I strongly suggest for anyone to look for another hotel!
