Great venue but beware!
We got married at Rumah Alexandra this past October 8th and everything was good, great venue, beautiful garden, beautiful house, perfect setting for a wedding. All was good until we booked the venue through a catering service from outside, not with the venue's regular caterer. We chose this catering service because they had already done 1 wedding with my family and several functions, so we knew exactly what to expect from them. The venue allows for outside catering, but they will make your experience a miserable one if you do so.
At the technical meeting, the Rumah Alexandra's reps (Ibu Wiwiet, and the other one I forgot her name) was interfering constantly with our internal caterer and committee meeting instead of offering helpful setting ideas that would have been constructive.
On the wedding day, unfortunately for us it was raining and many of our guests were not there at the beginning of the reception so we started late to let family members time to arrive. The same reps from Rumah Alexandra (according to my families and friends in the committee they already there in the venue when the reception started, walking around with 'sour' faces) and started to tell our MC that we had to hurry up and finish the activities 5 minutes before 21:00 or she would turn off the lights. So the end of our perfect day was ruined because we could not do everything we had planned, could not take pictures with all our families and friends. All this because we did not choose their own vendors. We are so sad, because many of our families and friends came from out of town, and abroad.
Indoor we can't feel the air conditioner, we and the guests constantly sweating. It's really hot and not comfortable at all. About the arrangement, during the technical meeting Ibu Wiwiet said she'll try to get a room in the first floor for my dad to rest, since all the rooms they provided for us is in the second floor, and my dad is in the wheelchair and they don't have elevator, but not even private corner sofa for him to rest.
Last detail I remember there's a painting (according to them it's Dewi Sri Goddess) hanged on the wall, which from technical meeting I already told them I don't want it in my wedding day, and they already approved to take it off the wall, but on my wedding day it's still hanged on the wall.
While our caterer was dismantling the wedding setup (flowers, tables, food, pictures, decorations), the threat of turning off the lights was put into action. While all of us and some of our families still there in the venue. Very unprofessional.
As we said in the beginning, this is a great place to get married, but beware of the unwritten policies of using your own vendor. It is at your own risks. Very sad and disappointed, that's what we feel. Hope no one will have the same experience like ours.
