★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Via gancik kalian akan mendapatkan view yang berbeda dari jalur lainnya mungkin akan memerlukan tenaga yang extra, tapi kalian di suguhkan pemandangan yang keren.
 Via gancik you will get a different view from other routes, maybe it will require extra energy, but you are presented with a cool view.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tidak banyak pohon rindang, untuk istirahat sementara, disarankan naik lagi ke pos bayangan 3 atau pos 3 klo mau istirahat dan ngopi/makan tempatnya lebih enak dan luas :)
There are not many shady trees, for a temporary break, it is advisable to go up again to shadow post 3 or post 3 if you want to take a break and have a coffee / eat the place is more delicious and spacious :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pemandangan nya sangat indah, Gunung Merapi terlihat dengan jelas dari sini, tapi gunung Merbabu nya malah gak kelihatan.
Pendakian Via Gancik juga sangat menantang banyak engkol²lan/tanjakan yg cukup curam dan patut dicoba terutama bagi pemula seperti saya, dari base camp sampe pos 5(sabana 2) 8 jam, dilanjut summit ke puncak kenteng songo ± 1 jam, nah kalo cepet cuma 4.5 jam sampai pos 5 ?
The scenery is very beautiful, Mount Merapi is clearly visible from here, but Mount Merbabu is not even visible.
The Via Gancik climb is also very challenging for many crankships / slopes which are quite steep and worth a try, especially for beginners like me, from the base camp to post 5 (savanna 2) 8 hours, continued the summit to the top of the songo ± 1 hour, now only 4.5 hours to post 5 ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jalur merbabu via Gancik (disebut jg selo baru) bisa dibilang menggunakan jalur yang belum resmi, saya berharap suatu saat jalur ini bisa resmi karena memang mampu bersaing dengan basecamp resmi selo lama.
Sangat direkomendasi bagi para pendaki senior/pemula yang ingin berkunjung ke sabana merbabu dgn lebih cepat. Karena mampu memotong waktu sampai 1 jam dibanding selo lama (jalur resmi selo).
Pasti mengganggu pikiran anda, kaitannya dgn resmi / tidaknya jalur ini. Dulu saya pernah bertanya pada pengurus. Mereka meyakinkan saya bahwa tidak apa2 untuk melewati jalur ini karena pengelolanya masyarakat daerah sendiri. Dgn catatan harus siap dgn konsekuensinya yaitu bisa jadi diturunkan paksa bila ada operasi / bila terjadi cidera tidak ada bantuan resmi (asuransi jiwa) / dan rasa cemas karena statusnya masih belum resmi selama perjalanan.
Mulai masuk basecamp tarif Rp.8.500 / orang, parkir Rp.5.000/ motor malam. Memang lebih murah dari selo lama. Terdapat ojek gunung dgn tarif Rp.15.000 / orang, dari basecamp - batas hutan (memotong 30mnt perjalanan sangat direkomendasikan) begitu sebaliknya harganya sama.
Rata - rata dengan kecepatan sedengan hanya memakan waktu 5 jam, dari batas hutan - sabana 1.
Perjalanan relatif mudah dan jarang ada tanjakan tajam, belum lg dengan pemandangan yang ditawarkan. Kalau boleh saya bilang lebih terbuka dibanding selo lama. Perjalanan melewati hutan - padang ilalang tinggi - padang edelweis. Jalur ini akan tembus di pos 3 "watu tulis" dari selo lama, pun pos 3 dr gancik.

The line of merbabu via Gancik (called jg selo baru) can be said to be using an unofficial line, I hope that one day this route can be official because it is indeed able to compete with the old selo official basecamp.
It is highly recommended for senior climbers / beginners who want to visit Sabana Merbabu faster. Because it can cut time to 1 hour compared to the old cello (official selo line).
It must disturb your mind, the relation to the official / not this path. I used to ask the management. They assured me that it was okay to go through this route because the managers were local people themselves. With a note, it must be prepared with the consequences of being forced down if there is an operation / if there is an injury there is no official assistance (life insurance) / and anxiety because the status is still not official during the trip.
Enter the basecamp for Rp.8,500 / person, parking Rp.5,000 / night motorbike. It's cheaper than old selo. There are mountain motorbikes at a rate of Rp. 15,000 / person, from the basecamp - the forest boundary (cutting 30 minutes of travel is highly recommended), so the price is the same.
The average speed is only as fast as 5 hours, from the forest boundary - savanna 1.
Travel is relatively easy and there are rarely sharp inclines, yet with the sights offered. If possible, I say it's more open than the old cello. Travel through the forest - high grassland - edelweiss. This path will be translucent in post 3 "watu write" from the old selo, even post 3 from gancik.
