★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The most badass experience ever had and unforgettable. Mountain with million great nature views it can comfort your eyes. The entrance price more less 15-20 Rupiah from this camp located (selo) . But it might be different in other camp. Merbabu mountain very recommended

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Selo is the official entry when you want to go to Merbabu Mountain. Just little below the gate and resort Merbabu there is a small village where every door of the villagers open as hikers base camp. They welcome every mountaineer to their house where we can prepare before the climb or rest after finising one long journey through Merbabu track. The villagers also open their kitchen so we can buy meals or some warm tea.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The basecamp itself is horrible. Right after the entrace a pill of garbage all around the place and it smells bad. And during the trecking, you can find a lot of garbage everywhere. They told me at the entrance that the young indonesians are responsible for that, but I think they also don't really bother to raise awareness or clean up.The funny thing is: foreigners have to 150'000 entrance and locals 50'000.
The basecamp-restaurants were not open, people were also not so welcoming and so we couldn't even find a hot tea to drink before the track (might be also because of ramadhan, but still)
The staff at the entrance are friendly and helpful.
