Ini candi yang beraura bagus! Sangat cantik. Terdapat beberapa candi di kompleks Candi Ngawen. Aksesnya juga bagus. Terawat.
It's a temple with a nice aura! So pretty. There are several temples in the Ngawen Temple complex. Access is also good. well maintained. Close to settlements and rice fields. I came in the morning, it was perfect to see the combination of blue sky, coconut trees, green rice fields, and a magnificent temple. Unfortunately the head of the Buddha statue in the main temple was broken.

Candi NGAWEN yang terletak di disa Ngawen. Daerah Muntilan. Kab Magelang. Saya mengenalnya sejak Tahun 1965.

#candingawen
I never refuse to be invited to visit a temple, any temple, Buddhist or Shiva. This time visiting Ngawen temple, which if seen from the map, the position of this temple can be drawn in a straight line with 3 temples namely Mendut, Pawon and Borobudur. It is located not far from Mendut, during this pandemic it was still closed to the public but entered by asking for permission to the Central Java BPCB online. It's easy, for the common good, let's follow the procedure, okay? This temple has 5 temples in almost intact condition, only 1 temple with the characteristic of a lion pouncing on 4 corners, that too minus the top, 3 temple ruins, 1 temple footprint with a headless buddharupang vara mudra. Only 2 Buddha statues can be seen, the other 1 is inside the almost intact temple. We pay our respects by reciting short chants and meditating. This time I used a Javanese costume even though it was incomplete because according to some elders, the temple guards were very happy with our presence. And sure enough, I got additional information that I didn't know about at all, actually in this temple there is a water source that I have asked about a long time ago, instead the temple should have been built near a water source, which is used as a place to clean and purify oneself before puja and worship. pilgrimage. The second information is that there are 6 sites around the Borobudur area, of which 5 of them are Shiva temples as evidenced by the existence of Lingga Yoni. Hmmm, maybe Javanese costume uniforms should be proposed as an alternative costume for visiting Javanese temples, besides being more polite, they can also absorb local wisdom more. Let's visit, learn, love, protect the heritage of the archipelago's ancestral masterpieces.. That's how the turtles are.. oh yeah, the yoni in this area is unique, you know, with a turtle and eagle floor. #candingawen

I dont know exactly how visit this temple. Three times visit this place has different methode. The first time free and we could take video or photos but the last time we have to pay and must have permit if we use for pre wedding. Then the last time, It is not allowed to make video except we ask to permit. But the problem is it is not easy to have the permit because the office where we could have permit is not in the area. For me it is really nice area to understand about history. Hope in the future it is easy to visit or have documentation in this place so that we can save the memories.

6.9 KM from Borobudur. Please be careful because the temple is under renovation.
