★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's one of the temple located inside the Prambanan complex (the others are Lumbung and Bubrah temple). Make sure to visit this temple and the museum after you finished enjoying Prambanan. The best way to reach Sewu temple in my opinion is to rent a bike (IDR 10-20k for 30 minutes). Reconstruction is still ongoing and you can see many people at work, which is very interesting. Inside the museum, you can see in detail how the temple was found in the past and the whole reconstruction process.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sewu Temple is the second largest Buddhist temple complex after Borobudur. Interesting fact, Sewu Temple is in the same area where Prambanan Temple (Hindu temple) located.
This temple also representing the Roro Jonggrang urband legend story.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in the Prambanan area, about 1 km length with 15 minutes walk, but you can go by shuttle with around 10k/20k with short stop to take some pictures.
It is worth by walking so you can see another temple in Prambanan area.
This Buddhist temple is less crowded than Prambanan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was marvelous. Just don't skip it if you make a visit to Prambanan.
It located in the area of Prambanan Temple, about 500m from the entrance gate. Even though located in the same area with Prambanan which know as Hindu's temple, Candi Sewu is Buddhist's temple.
Compared with Prambanan, this temple is very quite. You'll only find couples of visitor, since it took you some minutes by walk to reach this place. But if you are to lazy to walk you can rent a bike for 10K rupiahs (single bike) or 20K rupiah (for tandem bike). Or just rent a golfcar to make a private tour on the area of Prambanan, from one temple to another.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I dont think people really visit this place.. most of visitor just come to visit the prambanan temple only, while this sewu temple is located at the very end of road. This temple is amazing!! Must visit!
