Konon, dulu sebelum ada jembatan baru di sebelahnya, jalur ini angker terutama pohon Mangga sebelum jembatan (dari arah Purworejo), katanya banyak kejadian mistis yang berhubungan dengan mahluk halus. Anyway, jembatan ini sangat vital dan merupakan salah satu jalur utama ke arah Magelang/Semarang dan Yogyakarta/Purwokerto.
