★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's been ages since I walked into one of Gandy's establishment. We came to the closest branch from our home; at Apartment Golf Pondok Indah. Apparently you have to RSVP before you may enter the building, but the security was very nice and polite even helped us to get the alternative number to call since no one pick up the calls when I tried this one on Google map.
We sat outdoor, minimizing the risk of course during pandemic. We ordered 2 package sets; Steak Ala Gandy and Grilled Australian Sirloin, which came with salad/mushroom soup, drinks (softdrinks or ice tea), French fries and thawed veggies. Steak ala Gandy still comes with the infamous shallot and bird's-eye chili pickles.
Everything was great, we had enjoyable early dinner.

My steak looked very nice at first, sizzling on the grill plate that it was served on but I had to send it back because it was under cooked. Even after they cooked it again, it was still raw in the middle. In addition they bread had some mold spots. As a last comical event when paying the bill, it came in a payment booklet that had the American Express logo but they don't take AMEX card.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gandy’s is one of the oldest steak restaurant in Jakarta. The first place its in Menteng area. They’ve opened few branches around Jakarta. And this is one of the branch in southern Jakarta. Located in the ground level of an apartment in Pondok Indah. They have spacious area and the best thing of all, less crowded but maintain the same quality.
Steaks are off course their specialty. What I like most is their infamous butter bread role which served as the appetizer. You can feel the freshness, soft and buttery taste of the bread. And their infamous SHALLOT PICKLES is anyone can never be missed (i have to use caps for this one considering the priority haha).
Best steak house in South Jakarta area that is really recommended
