though it's one of the most popular Gado2 of Jakarta (there're pics of 3 foreigner eating), this BonBin will not come in my personal fave list.
yes i can understand their effort to preserve the store like it used to be some 60yrs ago, but to have pile of carton boxes at store facade is just kill my appetite.
prefer the Boplo (not to mention the best, Cemara) sauces instead of BonBin, i cant have more vegetables in the plate. whilst its ayam goreng was simply awful: overcooked and rather salty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The vintage culinary. Well done on my lunch as vegetarian. It's been here since 1960. The taste is so lovely. They did it well. There are 2 meals that I loved the most, Gado gado and asinan. Both are vegetarian food. Gado gado is vegetable salad on peanut dressing. Asinan is fruit salad & bunch of vegetable on sour cuisine taste. This place is only has one room in a little bit small one. Some tables and chairs are there. Its good to be here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The taste rather little bit different than other gado-gado as i know. For me myself, it's more like typical food of Bogor. It's over price for standard atmosphere, services, and no parking slot area for your car. Let's see the details from the pictures that i captured below:

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It really is a great gado-gado, taste wise! It’s quite an expensive one for a gado-gado. But I think it’s worth the price! The place is quite small, though. So it’s not suitable for large group. Furthermore, it’s hard to park if you bring a car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A place to eat salad with peanut sauce (gado-gado). the food were great especially the gado-gado. the vegetables were fresh, the peanut sauce so soft it was delicious. The lontong sayur cap gomeh were very complete. You get chicken, egg, and meat in 1 bowl.
For the drink, I ordered es cendol, it was not good. The cendol was plain and lack of red sugar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good gado-gado salad with nice nutty sauce and prawn / emping crackers. They also sell variety of old-style snacks on the premise. You also can drink old-style beverage there like es cing-cau . The location is a bit hard to find and in a small lane, but ambience is OK for casual diners and service from staff is reasonable.
Prices are reasonable and you can pay with EFTPOS machine.
