★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in the Kota Tua area, on Jalan Fatahillah, there is a museum that has been around since the Dutch colonial era. This building itself was also founded by the Dutch colonial government. Where pasa at that time was used as a Stadhuis or City Hall. This place itself, was first inaugurated by the Governor General Abraham Van Riebeeck in 1710.
For its construction, the City Hall building was started in 1620, namely during the reign of Governor General Jan Pieterszoon Coen. Before it was actually inaugurated, this one museum underwent several restoration processes. After it was inaugurated, the building that you can find in the Old City area also had several changes and changes in function.
And from 1925 to 1942, this city hall was used as the West Java Provincial Government Office. After that, it turned into the Dai Nippon Logistics Collection Office. This happened when Japan occupied Indonesia from 1942 to 1945. Then, after Indonesia's independence, this building changed its function to become the headquarters of West Jakarta City Military Command / Kodim 0503.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want to know and learn about the history of jakarta, this museum is the right place to go. There are a lot af artefacts, historical items, etc about jakarta. You can also see the underground jail beneath this museum, to be honest thats pretty spooky,hehe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wondering about Indonesian History ? Here you can find information about Indonesian history as well as historical attributes such as underground prison, old money, stones, table, chair, painting, etc.
It is an old two stories building, so when the visitors on the 2nd floor is too many, the guards will closed the door and asking visitors to come down.
This place is fit for children and school trip. The contribution fee is very cheap arounr Rp 5.000 for adults, 4.000 for varsity student, 3.000 for kids and special price for group outing. However somehow the setting was not too attractive and a bit dusty.
