★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed here during transit to ride train from Gambir station. For that purpose, the hotel is OK, and the bed is comfortable enough. It's only around 5-10 minutes away from Gambir station, which makes it a good choice for transit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed in numerous hotels in Jakarta, for the last 25 years, from 5 stars to zero, and experimented the while spectrum of excellent rooms and services to the most dreadful. Cipta hotel is a discovery for me, and a real bargain. It's not the cheapest in town, but in that area, it's a real bargain. I just spent a night, booked with Agoda, and I ended up paying 174k Ros ( 12 USD) with breakfast. Original price was 350, and I had 180 k I could deduct from my Agoda account. So let's say that at 350 k, it's a deal . The hotel is annold building, with carpeted corridors and rooms. The carpets in corridors have seen better days, but the carpet in my room was spotless. The room is spacious, old style, but clean, TV is flat screen, a few years old, and at least it has CNN and HBO. A bit grainy, but very watchable. WiFi works, not the fastest, but enough to cast YouTube or netflix on TV. Bed is comfy, bedsheets clean. Bathroom is spacious too, shower is ok, water not hot enough, but in Indonesia, it's enough. There is even a minibar with softdrink (not free).
I was on the 4 storey, and the lift is ok.
Breakfast is not great, but average, simple Indonesian food, eatable. You can ask for omelette, and the service is quick and friendly.
Not a great hotel as per se, but a great value for money, in a central location, and obviously for that price hotels like that are rare. The design is an old architecture with some funny 1950 reminders, like the entrance from lobby to restaurant, a kind of squarish sas, with rounded corners, all tiled with small black ceramic....there are well many pictures of old Jakarta, 1950, 1960, and so on...so for those who come to Indonesia regularly, it's a good.reminder of what the country looked like back then.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Their room maybe seems lil'bit old, but they're hold. And surprisingly, comfortable. Some of the rooms seem to have been renovated. The atmosphere is quite calm even though it is surrounded by a busy main road environment. The staff hospitality is excellent. But make sure first if the room aircon and water heater facility is working properly. Overall, i like to stay here

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love this place. The location is really central, near Jalan Jaksa and Sarinah etc. The rooms are nicely renovated, if maybe a little small. Staff are always really courteous and friendly.
The best thing of all is the 24-hour restaurant which has great food and juices etc, not to mention a great atmosphere. It is a real home away from home and a retreat from the busy city streets.
