★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I used to spend time at this book stores back in early 2000s, looking for inspiration from many of its amazing design books, today it has made a drastic changes after closing all others Aksara (mall’s outlet) to a multi-function hub. Aksara Kemang has always been a place to nourish your knowledge and get inspired by the great stuff they offers. Now, you’ll not only find books and nic-nacs, there’s an art classes, movie theater, coffee & doughnuts, film lab/photo processing studio. It’s good to see the revamp and get the retail business going again as one of the iconic place in Kemang

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Book store with carefully curated choice of books. Could have a bigger selection (quantity). Some souvenirs. It is part of a complex of small art and independent shops. Minimal interior design. Very nice music. Definitely worth a visit and hanging out with friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good selection of books, some small gifts and knic-knacks , a little coffee pastry corner and a great setting make for a perfect place to spend a few house picking up and diving into books you're passionate about. A little pricy though - or as I say Kemang Retail Price ;)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The last remaining aksara bookstore in Jakarta. It has new concept, and I find the products to be more niche than ever. It shares a building with other indie tenants such as Lab rana, kinosaurus, coffee shop and skateboard park which acts as a hub for indie cultures. Due to covid, the entrance is limited to 1 doors. It is filled by young adults during the weekend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited hoping to buy books but I ended up just browsing through overpriced washi tape and sustainable products… coffee and tea were OK but can make at home. Adding one extra star instead of only one star just because the ambience was enjoyable (they played Sufjan Stevens songs, very hippy). There was a very small pathetic waterfall but I guess it added to the atmosphere with the pitter patter of the water. Overall, a good hipster change of scenery (add one more star instead of just two). But please please do not CALL THIS A BOOKSTORE. IT IS A CAFETERIA with merchandise AT BEST.
