★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty much cool and aesthetically pleasing airport. Bit reminds me of Heathrow Airport. It’s clean, huge, and nice. However it’s not 100% ready. No air conditioner in Gate 3A so it was so hot. And the PeduliLindungi Kiosk assistant doesn’t much of help. I got long queue for that. Please work fast everybody. Not much store open yet. But it’s not terrible

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yogyakarta International Airport or YIA is the newest airport serving Yogyakarta city and surround. The airport much larger than the old one, Adisutjipto which now serving turboprop aircraft, vvip, and military service. YIA located in westernmost part of Yogyakarta province, about 1,5 hr driving from downtown or 39 minutes by airport train and toll road is going to build soon.
The terminal building consist of three floors, lowest floor for ground transportation, mezzanine for arrivals and top for departures. Airport rail station just beneath of departure level in mezzanine level.
Since open for passengers and also due to pandemic, this airport still quite empty and only domestic route are open. The runway itself can accommodate small aircraft until Boeing 777W full-load.
Disadvantage of this airport is the signage too small and can't visible like toll roads signage or compared to Jakarta's CGK airport. Then speed traps is high, so better if the authority remove it off.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A new airport which is located in Kulon Progo regency. The design is modern and awesome with local culture touch. I love the big lounge here with its sea view (kind of). There so many instagrammable spots here. The service and hospitality from the staffs are great, they are so helpful and polite. This is one of my favorite airport in Indonesia.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This new airport have a good interior and design, and the staff are friendly we can have a gift from all around java here, especially yogyakarta.
The downside of this airport are the public transport, its really confusing how to get a public transport here, the buss or train oe anything else, and you need to walk very far away to get to the bus station, feels like this airport builded for the one who use personal car/taxi not publix transport user

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love how artsy the airport is.
It look modern but contains a lot of traditional Yogyakarta arts from the ceilings to the walls.
Couple of alley still looks empty but I guess they’re planning to place more paintings from local artists there.
The only bothering thing is that places to eat and chill is almost nonexistent inside the airport, so don’t come way earlier with empty stomach.
On my latest visit the train from airport to the city wasn’t operating yet, I have to get taxi ride for one hour to reach the city but the view along the way is beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very large airport, it is quite clean and well maintained. The terminals have lots of shopping areas with a wide range of stuff, but not many of them are open. Free wifi available at the terminal. It's quite far from the city center so the only reasonable connection is by train. There's no trolley at the car parking area so it's quite unfortunate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ NYIA airport is amazing. with a design that is very pleasing to the eye and very good for taking pictures. The outdoor and indoor designs are stunning, but if it's outside during the day it's very hot, there's very little shade. if at night it will be very beautiful, especially at dusk. and with very well maintained facilities and clean toilets, it will be very comfortable to be at this airport. If the flight is sunny, you will see a view that is incredibly beautiful, with a stretch of hills and sea that is very eye-catching.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited this new airport in Kulonprogo several times during business trips. Facilities are great but the location is quite far from Yogyakarta city (about 1.5 hrs by car) so be careful when catching a flight.
Beautiful ocean view can be seen from the waiting room, even prettier view from the plane. The airport is huge and spacious, however it can get hot inside even though the room has high ceiling.
