★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Desa Wisata Malahayu salah satu desa di Kecamatan Banjarharjo. Luas wilayah 1889,53 Ha yang terdiri dari 10 Pedukuhan utama, 4 pedukuhan kecil, 14 Rw dan 32 Rt. Masyarakatnya berbahasa ibu Sunda, dengan mata pencaharian mayoritas petani.
Potensi yang dimiliki adalah Waduk Malahayu dengan luas 950 ha yang berfungsi sebagai pengairan sawah dan Pariwisata. Selain itu Malahayu juga dikenal sebagai sentra keramik, Sapi Jabres ( Jawa Brebes), pertanian dan perikanan.
Disektor pariwisata Malahayu punya potensi Waduk Malahayu, Situs Benteng Dinamit, Kampung Pelangi, BBM fantasy Land, Bukit Cinta, Taman Bunga, Bualan Indah dan Gardu Pandang Bukit Dadablangan. Dalam 2 tahun belakangan sektor pariwisata mampu menggenjot perekonomian masyarakat.
Dengan menggeliatnya sektor wisata tumbuh usaha kuliner, souvenir, homestay dan lapangan pekerjaan. Banyak tenaga kerja yang terserap baik langsung atau tidak langsung. Dari sektor perikanan juga meningkat, seiring meningkatnya jumlah pengunjung.
Adanya Desa Wisata Malahayu dengan berbagai daya tarik yang ada mampu menjadikan daerah ini menjadi tujuan wisata nomer 2 di Kabupaten Brebes. Banyak juga event kepariwisataan baik tingkat kabupaten sampai propinsi diselenggarakan disini.
Begitu juga kulinernya, menu yang khas perpaduan Jawa Sunda menjadi daya tarik wisatawan. Keberhadilan dibidang pariwisata juga dinikmati seluruh masyarakat Malahayu, dari Karang Taruna sampai lembaga keagamaan.
Event tahunan yang diselenggarakan adalah Sedekah Waduk. Sama seperti halnya sedekah bumi, yang membedakan lokasinya di waduk. Seluruh masyarakat membawa nasi berkat untuk di doakan dan dibagikan kepengunjung. Setelah selesai kenduri dilanjut lomba balap perahu dan tangkap bebek di waduk.

The annual event held is the Reservoir Alms. Just like the earth's alms, which distinguishes its location in the reservoir. The whole community brings blessed rice to be prayed for and distributed to visitors. After the feast was finished, the boat race continued and caught the ducks in the reservoir.
