Tapi kita masih bisa menggunakan area samping balairung dan sisi selatan gedung untuk berolahraga dan bersantai. Spot ini sangat cocok untuk berfoto. Biasa digunakan untuk latar foto wisuda oleh para wisudawan
 The inside is still able to exercise. Now it's not allowed. But we can still use the area next to the hall and the south side of the building to exercise and relax. This spot is perfect for taking photos. Usually used for graduation photo background by graduates

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rektorat UGM merupakan bangunan yang berkesan bagi saya. Arsitekturnya khas bangunan tempo dulu. Suasana akademik & perjuangan sangat kentara. Saya sering berkunjung ke bangunan ini untuk beberapa acara formal. Rektorat UGM juga menawarkan view foto yang menarik. Untuk fasilitas umum seperti toilet & musholla, saya sedikit kesusahan menemukannya.
The Rectorate of UGM is a building that impresses me. The architecture is typical of old buildings. Academic atmosphere and struggle are very obvious. I often visit this building for some formal events. The UGM Rector also offers interesting photo views. For public facilities such as toilets & musholla, I was a little troubled to find them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gedung pusat UGM diresmikan pada 19 Desember 1959 oleh Presiden Ir. Soekarno. Gedung tiga lantai di kompleks Bulaksumur ini menandai berdirinya perguruan tinggi pertama yang berhasil dibangun Pemerintah RI pascakemerdekaan.
Kini, gedung tersebut masih tetap berdiri megah, kokoh dan kuat. Hasil rancangan Arsitek GPH Hadinegoro, Pria yang berhasil meraih gelar insinyur di Technische Hooge School, Delf, Belanda.
Sekarang gedung ini digunakan sebagai gedung Rektorat, tempat dimana Rektor beserta pembantu-pembantunya bekerja mengelola aktifitas yang berlangsung di Universitas Gajahmada.
The UGM central building was inaugurated on December 19, 1959 by President Ir. Sukarno. This three-story building in the Bulaksumur complex marks the establishment of the first university that was successfully built by the Indonesian government after independence.
Today, the building still stands majestic, sturdy and strong. Designed by GPH Hadinegoro Architect, a man who won an engineer degree at the Technische Hooge School, Delf, The Netherlands.
Now this building is used as the Rectorate building, the place where the Chancellor and his assistants work to manage the activities that take place at Gajahmada University.
