★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lebih bagus dari tugu ikonik yang dulu...lebih menampilkan budaya Jawa dan identitas daerah...hanya saja memang terlalu menonjol logo salah satu bank sebagai sponsornya...
Better than the iconic monument in the past ... it displays Javanese culture and regional identity ... it's just that the logo of one of the banks as its sponsor is too prominent ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pengubahan tugu lama menjadi tugu baru berbentuk gunungan seperti mengubah identitas kota Purworejo itu sendiri. Tugu lama yang terlihat biasa saja dirasa lebih terlihat ikonik dan bersejarah. Apalagi ditambah dengan logo Bank Jateng yang terlampau menonjol untuk sengaja diperlihatkan sebagai sponsor dalam pembangunan berbagai monumen di tengah kota belakangan ini.
Changing the old monument into a new monument in the form of mountains is like changing the identity of Purworejo city itself. Old monuments that look normal are considered more iconic and historic. Moreover, coupled with the logo of the Bank of Central Java that is too prominent to be intentionally shown as a sponsor in the construction of various monuments in the middle of the city lately.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tugu gunungan wayang barat ini menggantikan Tugu Adipura di kompleks Alun-alun Purworejo. Wayang yang menggambarkan aktivitas warga maupun kekhasan Purworejo ini keberadaannya cukup mencolok karena berwarna putih dan akan semakin menarik di malam hari.
Penggantian dua tugu sebelumnya tersebut disambut baik oleh masyarakat karena menjadi simbol perubahan pemandangan di Purworejo yang selama ini dinilai monoton saja.
Meskipun demikian, beberapa warga Purworejo juga menyayangkan adanya perubahan bentuk tugu. Sebagian warga melihat bahwa tugu lama telah ikonik dan melekat dengan Purworejo. Banyak komunitas-komunitas di Purworejo yang menggunakan bangunan tersebut sebagai logonya karena bentuknya yang sederhana dan sudah menjadi ciri khas Purworejo.
Tugu wayang yang ada sekarang ini dinilai tidak bisa dikatakan mencerminkan Purworejo karena gunungan bukan ciri khas Purworejo, tetapi ciri khas Jawa Tengah. Meskipun di dalam gunungan ada relief tentang Purworejo, tapi hal itu hanya terlihat samar.
This West Wayang Gunungan monument replaces the Adipura monument in the Purworejo Square complex. Puppet which describes the activities of the residents and the special characteristics of Purworejo is quite striking because it is white and will be more attractive at night.
The replacement of the two previous pillars was welcomed by the community because it became a symbol of the change of scenery in Purworejo which had been considered monotonous.
Nevertheless, some Purworejo residents also regretted the change in the shape of the monument. Some residents saw that the old monument was iconic and attached to Purworejo. Many communities in Purworejo use the building as its logo because of its simple shape and has become Purworejo's characteristic.
The existing puppet monument cannot be said to reflect Purworejo because the mountains are not Purworejo's characteristics, but Central Javanese characteristics. Although in the mountains there is a relief about Purworejo, but that only looks faint.
