★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my go-to place to have a hearty japanese pork meal. Glad they open their outlet in Mrga Kuningan as it is more convenient than their MidPlaza location.
Come here for lunch as they have set lunches. For dinner, bar the rice bowls, everyhing else is a la carte (no rice, no dessert, salad, and yakult).
- Iberico Pork Katsu
Always loved iberico as i feel the meat has better texture and is more juicy. However, their original rosu katsu is already good enough, and the iberico was slightly tough. Although its great, would be better off ordering the regular rosu katsu instead.
- stamina don
A reliable favorite. Pork slices were always heavenly, perfectly cooked and flavored. This also comes in a chazuke setting, but i prefer the normal rice bowl version.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very interestingly it shares the same menu as Sakana next door. The setting and the seats are different though. I find Sakana next door seems to be more tailored for business people while the ambience of Tontonki is more for causal gatherings with friends.
Food is good while price is reasonable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great pork dishers from Tontoki, average halal Japanese dishes from Sakana (and not because it doesn't contain pork; just that you can get something as tasty at other places). But interesting side-by-side concept, great ambiance, and good food.
