★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place, but, caused of covid some photo spot for tourist is closed. The entrance ticket is Rp.5000. I suggest you go here around 9-10 am with a friend who known the place around, if you don't want a tour guide.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This water castle park is in the form of ancient building looks so majestic with many beautiful sight especially the bathing complex. A must visit place whenever you're in yogya. Mostly visitors took pictures in every corner of the area. There are tour guides available if you want to get a better explanation on every part of the castles. Not much of written descriptions available and also direction, so you might need to ask assistance of a guide.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have a good time there after walking for around 8km and got 2 more kilos in Taman Sari. Nice place to learn about history, also we got a guide and he is really nice and good at taking pictures!
We started the journey from the Pasar, I forgot the name. We got a lot to see from there.
The ticket is around IDR5K/person (domestic tourist). And for the guide, there is no fix fee but you can give them whatever you want, just based on your willingness.
PS: The guide didn't bring us to shopping centre tho.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A cultural place full of wonderful spot to learn about history of Yogyakarta. The local tour guide is very helpful and skillful in taking photos of the tourists. Overall it was a pleasant visit.

You can see how old and different of old architecture with current time.
Wall thickness is crazily thick.
Minus point
- no clear sign so the guide is insisting to guide you around. Baddd
- maintenance not really good. They should do better maintenance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visiting the location for first time, and it leaves bad impression for me. True the entrance fee is only 5k. But once inside you are left with your own to figure out where to go. There's actually several region to cover but you need to get there with almost zero navigation guidance. No maps, no direction signs. Of course all this goes down to whether you are comfortable as there are dozens of local guides inside. And what i get those tour guides somehow keep telling to let them guide you rather than being lost in the way, or suddenly shout at you that you cannot go back one you pass certain gates and need to reenter from the beginning.
Dude I think its a bully for a tourist site to somehow make fun of the visitor because they clearly don't know there exist such rule.
I don't mind paying more for the entrance had there been a proper guidance and navigation on site as not everyone comfortable walking with a tour guide, and some just want to get lost by purpose as part of traveling rather than going.
For what its worth, I think its actually an interesting sites to explore, just not with the hostile hospitality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1st time, stay at this hotel for a friend wedding, the price is really affordable after we got the promo price, the location like in the heart of the city and really easy to fond by google map, the hotel (resort look like) its a big complex of hotel with various type of room. big restaurant, children play ground and nice castle lobby
Our room is very big, we even have balcony with a good view, the non carpet type room, old furniture and small TV
I think other room is better.. but we love our weekend here
