Spenda (biasa dipanggil begitu) berada di Jalan Bhayangkara yang merupakan daerah strategis karena menjadi jalan utama semua angkutan kota (hijet) untuk menuju pasar Wonosobo sehingga memudahkan anak sekolah yang biasa menggunakan angkutan kota. Sekolah ini bersebelahan dengan SMK 1 Wonosobo dan SD 7, 9, 10 Wonosobo. Sehingga tidak heran jika sepanjang jalan penuh dengan pedagang kaki lima.
Untuk masalah prestasi, bisa dikatakan selalu menempati 5 besar dalam nilai terbaik UN se kabupaten tiap tahunnya. Sering memenangkan perlombaan baik di bidang akademis maupun non-akademis.
