★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sekolah Dasar Muhammadiyah Suronatan adalah sekolah muhammadiyah tertua di Indonesia, pada mulanya bernama Standart School, berdiri pada tahun 1918.
Sekolah ini didirikan langsung oleh pendiri Persyarrikatan Muhammadiyah, Kyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan. Berdiri di atas lahan seluas 1.513 meter persegi, dengan luas bangunan 996 meter persegi, sebagian tiga lantai. Jumlah siswa saat ini 489 anak.
Jumlah ini masih bisa bertambah mengingat banyaknya calon siswa pindahan dari luar propinsi yang berminat sekolah di SD Muhammadiyah Suronatan. Namun mengingat keterbatasan ruang dan lahan, maka terpaksa tidak bisa diterima. Sebagai misal pada tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 untuk kelas I hanya bisa menerima 80 siswa dari jumlah pendaftar 121 calon siswa. Sedangkan untuk siswa pindahan dari luar daerah menerima 9 siswa.
SD Muhammadiyah Suronatan, secara nasional telah dikenal dan menjadi referensi untuk kunjungan studi banding dan studi wisata. Hal ini karena adanya nilai historis sebagai sekolah muhammadiyah tertua, di samping berbagai prestasi sekolah lainnya.
Ini tentunya menuntut untuk selalu berbenah dan meningkatkan mutu pelayanan dan mutu lulusan. Tidak sekedar tingginya nilai kelulusan saja, tapi juga harus diikuti dengan karakter lulusan yang baik. Sekolah juga berusaha memenuhi tuntutan masyarakat yang menyekolahkan anaknya di SD Muhammadiyah Suronatan, terutama dari sisi keagamaannya. Untuk hal tersebut sekolah berusaha meujudkan harapan masyarakat dan dituangkan dalam visi dan misi sekolah.
Suronatan Muhammadiyah Elementary School is the oldest Muhammadiyah school in Indonesia, originally named Standard School, established in 1918.
This school was founded directly by the founder of Persyarikatan Muhammadiyah, Kyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan. Standing on an area of 1,513 square meters, with a building area of 996 square meters, partly three floors. The current number of students is 489 children.
This number could still increase considering the large number of prospective transfer students from outside the province who are interested in attending SD Muhammadiyah Suronatan. However, given the limitations of space and land, it is not acceptable. For example, in the 2017/2018 school year, class I could only accept 80 students from a total of 121 prospective students. Meanwhile, transfer students from outside the region accept 9 students.
SD Muhammadiyah Suronatan has been recognized nationally and has become a reference for comparative study visits and study tours. This is because of the historical value as the oldest Muhammadiyah school, in addition to various other school achievements.
This of course demands to always improve and improve the quality of service and the quality of graduates. Not only high graduation scores, but also must be followed by good graduate characters. The school also tries to meet the demands of the people who send their children to SD Muhammadiyah Suronatan, especially from a religious perspective. For this reason, the school tries to realize the expectations of the community and is stated in the school's vision and mission.
