★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mostly people go here for spriritual visit, since nothing is at the top other than grave of certain religious leader. Well, could be a good place for vertical running exercise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good for hiking. Relax in the morning. Not that crowded event hough it's weekend. Instagramable. There are really good snerek (Magelang's specialty which is red bean soup) at the entrance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mount tidar located in the centre of Magelang town . It is so easy to climb because the local government was made staircase as the path to the top. When you walk up you will see alot of pine tree , the atmosphere is so cool and tranquil. Some Javanese people still visiting this place as a certain ceremony but another visiting as recreational place. There are small mosque and toilet close by the top of this mount near that a cemetery of Kyai sepanjang ( it is cemetery of weapon not human which some people believe that this weapon has power ). In the top you will see the one area with surrounding fence and people believe that the tombstone as symbol of " Paku tanah Jawa " ( nail.of Java island ) . Near those there are high monument which was use as place to raising flag and behind that a cemetery of a person which has big influence based on Javanese storytelling. Just remind you that in this mount we must keeping good our mind , attitude and speak. Becareful when you walk up sometime you will meet the monkey and make sure your bag close properly because some of them can steal your belongings.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I lived in Magelang from 1979 to 1993. Back then, there was not much building on top of mount Tidar, only the Graves and Sanctuaries, also the tower. I went to Magelang on 2005 or 2006 for business but because I stayed only for 1 day I haven't got the chance to really explore Magelang again and go to mount Tidar.
Magelang was one of few cities that I love so much, I really look forward to go to Magelang again, see my childhood neighborhood and homes, and go to the top of mount Tidar.
