★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The monument lies on the busy traffic lane. It's dedicated to the struggle of the Tentara Rakyat Mataram, an army formed from various social life people in Yogyakarta as a statement of the people of Yogyakarta rejecting the return of colonialism after the proclamation of independence on August 17th,1945. The monument was inaugurated on 18 November 1990, it was built by former members of it to commemorate the fighters who died in driving out the Dutch-British allies from Semarang to Yogyakarta in the period 1945-1946. The monument is consists of relief with a size of approximately 6 meters wide x 3 meters high containing the visual art from the struggle of Tentara Rakyat Mataram from 1945-1946. When visiting it in early 2020, the condition of the monument was very well maintained and quite clean.
