MI Muhammadiyah Gading 1 adalah satu dari tiga Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Muhammadiyah di Kecamatan Klaten Utara. MI Muhammadiyah lain di kecamatan Klaten Utara adalah : MIM Gading 2 dan MIM Karanganom. Selain itu ada sekolah setingkat MI yang dikelola Majelis Dikdasmen PCM Muhammadiyah Klaten Utara, yaitu SD Muhammadiyah Klaten Utara.
Lokasi MIM Gading 1 di tengah kampung pinggiran kota, tapi jumlah siswanya paling banyak dari seluruh MI Muhammadiyah maupun negeri di kota Klaten. MIM Gading 1 bertempat di Gading Santren Rt.001 Rw.010 Belang Wetan Klaten Utara Klaten, MI Muhammadiyah Gading 1 ini sudah terakreditasi dengan nomor npsn 60711658.
