Goa payaman terletak di Kepuhan RT.11, Argorejo, Sedayu, Bantul,Yogyakarta sekitar 14 Km dari kota Yogyakarta. Dari jalan raya yogya wates km 12 tepatnya diperempatan sedayu kearah selatan kurang lebih 1,5 km melalui jalan sedayu gesikan, sarana dan prasarana jalan sudah cukup memadai dan dapat dilalui oleh kendaraan roda 4, truck dan bus.

Sejarah Gua Payaman
I. Asal mula gua Polaman/Gua Payaman
Terletak di Bukit Selo, dahulu Bukit Selo adalah Bukit bebatuan, bukit terjal, bukit batu kapur. Bukit Selo merupakan deretan Bukit, dari Argodadi sampai Argorejo (sekarang). Bukit Selo memendam misteri sejarah diantaranya adanya Gua Payaman yang terletak di daerah Argorejo sebelah selatan berbatasan dengan Argodadi.
Gua Payaman terdiri dua Gua yang terkenal :
1. Gua Lanang
2. Gua Wadon
Dua Gua tersebut memiliki cerita, bahwa Gua Payaman pada waktu itu dijadikan pelarian (persembunyian Prajurit Majapahit ketika terjadi perang Kerta Bumi dengan Rana Wijaya serta Demak dengan Majapahit). Pada waktu Majapahit yang berkuasa dalam masa pemerintahan Kerta Bumi (Brawijaya V) terjadi perang saudara terus-menerus.

Payaman Cave is located in Kepuhan RT.11, Argorejo, Sedayu, Bantul, Yogyakarta, about 14 km from the city of Yogyakarta. From the Yogya Wates highway km 12, precisely at the Sedayu intersection towards the south, approximately 1.5 km through the Sedayu Gesikan road, the road facilities and infrastructure are adequate and can be passed by 4-wheeled vehicles, trucks and buses.

Payaman Cave History
I. The origin of the Polaman cave/Payaman Cave
Located in Bukit Selo, formerly Bukit Selo was a rocky hill, a steep hill, a limestone hill. Bukit Selo is a row of hills, from Argodadi to Argorejo (now). Bukit Selo harbors historical mysteries including the Payaman Cave which is located in the southern Argorejo area bordering Argodadi.
Payaman Cave consists of two famous caves:
1. Lanang Cave
2. Wadon Cave
The two caves have a story, that Payaman Cave at that time was used as an escape (a hiding place for Majapahit soldiers during the Kerta Bumi war with Rana Wijaya and Demak with Majapahit). During the reign of Majapahit during the reign of Kerta Bumi (Brawijaya V) there was a continuous civil war.
