★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Too crowded, I come to here in the morning to eat the "Bubur Ayam" (my friend recommend it) but I can't eat it because it's already sold out and the people are crowding the place like a fly

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beside the main purpose of this building is for worship for Muslims but the design and history is so interesting.
The building was initiated in 1922 as N.V. (Naamloze vennootschap) Bouwploeg, a Dutch property developer/architecture firm of Pieter Adriaan Jacobus Moojen (1879–1955). The firm planned and developed the nearby residential area of Gondangdia. Afterwards the building was used as the department for drinking water.
During the coming period, the building was used for different functions such as post office and train company office. From 1959 until 1960 the building was used as a mayor office of Central Jakarta. Later the building was used as a drinking water department (Perusahaan Air Minum), Department of Residentials of Jakarta (Kantor Dinas Urusan Perumahan Jakarta), and People Assembly (MPRS). From 1964-1970, the building was used as the Office of Home and Religion (1964–1970).
After Ali Sadikin's term as Governor of Jakarta, the building was converted into a provincial mosque on 18 August 1987 under the law SK gubernur no. 5184/1987.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Historical building from ducth colonial era which has been transformed into a mousqe, nobody know why. Despite the shaf or the line to pray (which must pointing to Mecca) seems don't align with the shape of building, but still this is one of beautiful mousqes in Jakarta. Tourists can come inside to sight seeing and to admire the interior and there are a information wall to tell its history. Annually, Ramadhan Jazz Festival take place in this mousqe, only in Ramadhan month. I love this place very much. On weekend in the morning, this mousqe use to be a place for "akad nikah" a sacred ceremony of Moslem weeding..such a beautiful place for proposing a girl to mary you. Seriously. I wish i could akad nikah in this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unique mosque in Jakarta. It was built when Holland collonialism age. The main purpose wasn't for pray but office so that's why it hasn't dome like other mosques.
This mosque is placed in strategic location for workers, among offices area and railway station. It's crowded during break lunch time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This historic mosque, which was inaugurated in 1987, has actually been designated as a cultural heritage since 1961. This is because the building was previously the office of the Dutch architect NV De Bouwpleg Pieter Adriaan Jacobs Moojen from 1879-1942 who built the Gondangdia area in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
The mosque is clean, comfortable for prayer and worship. The parking lot is large. The location is not far from the Gondangdia train station. Various food vendors also take shelter around this mosque. So, it's no wonder, besides those who come to worship, many people also come for culinary tours.
As it used to be an office building and was not completely restored to become a mosque, the Cut Meutia mosque does not have a minaret and a dome. The orientation of the building is not exactly facing the Qibla. Thus, the position of the mihrab and pulpit is not right in front of the center as in general mosque buildings.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great, comfortable and relaxing place to pray. The location so strategic, of you feel Istiqlal mosque was too big, than this mosque suite for you, it's only a few minutes ride from Istiqlal.
