Bersepeda pagi ini kesini, situs bukan candi. Ditengah sawah, suasananya asri, tapi tidak masuk kedalam hanya melihat dr luar pagar.
Cycling this morning here, site not a temple. In the middle of the rice fields, the atmosphere is beautiful, but you don't go inside, you only see from outside the fence.

This site was discovered by residents when carrying out activities to lower the surface of the rice fields to facilitate irrigation. The Mantup site consists of three small temple buildings, lined up from north to south facing west. The function of Mantup Temple is as a place to hold a wedding ceremony. This can be seen in the findings of the Kalyanasundaramurti statues depicting men and women side by side and holding hands which is thought to be a depiction of Shiva and Parvati. These findings indicate that the temple of Mantup has a Hindu background, especially the worship of Lord Shiva. This statue is kept at BP3 (Conservation Center for Ancient Heritage) Yogyakarta. What can be seen is the base of the temple, each measuring about 2x2 m. According to estimates, this site was built around the 8th and 9th centuries of the Ancient Mataram Kingdom. This temple ruins complex has three incomplete foundations, measuring approximately 2x2 meters² and a height of 0.5 meters. Until now the buildings on this site have not been restored, given the lack of data on the original buildings.

"Tentang situs Candi Mantup" Candi Mantup ditemukan pada tanggal 25 Juni 1991, ketika masyarakat melakukan kegiatan penurunan permukaan tanah sawah untuk pengairan. Berdasarkan stratigafi tanah, menunjukkan adanya lapisan vulkanik.
"About the Mantup Temple site" Mantup temple was discovered on June 25, 1991, when the community carried out activities to lower the surface of the paddy fields for irrigation. Based on the soil stratigafi, it indicates the presence of a volcanic layer. This proves that this site was once hit by lava due to the activities of Mount Merapi. Don't imagine that Mantup Temple is like the majestic Kalasan Temple. The shape of the Mantup temple consists of three small buildings lined up from north to south, facing west. The first temple is located in the north, made of bricks measuring 2.5 x 2.5 m. The second temple, in the middle is made of white stone, measuring 2.16 x 2.16 m. The third temple is located in the south, also made of white stone, measuring 2.28 x 2.28 m. The temple building is located at a depth of ± 1.4 m from the present ground level. The shape of the body and roof of the Mantup temple can no longer be known. This is likely due to the collapse of this building. Based on the rest of the foot of the temple and other plain stones, Mantup Temple is a temple that does not have ornaments or decorative arts. In the second temple, a statue of Kalyanasundaramurti measuring 70 x 35 x 20 cm was found, made of andesite stone. This statue depicts a man (Shiva) and a woman (Parvati) standing side by side and standing on straight legs. Shiva's left hand and Parvati's right hand are joined or joined hands (panigrahana-which is a symbol of the union of the bride and groom). Parvati's left hand is in the varada hasta position (giving grace, depicted with the palm open with the fingers facing downward) and carrying the pearl (jewelery). Both of them wear rich jewelery, wear flower crowns, and have a sirascakra (halo). This statue is thought to represent the marriage of Shiva and Parvati. Currently the statue is kept at the DIY Cultural Heritage Conservation Center (BPCB). The existence of the Kalyana Sundaramurti statue and sumuran in the temple can be seen that the religious nature of the Mantup Temple is Hindu. The important value of the Mantup Site is its function as a place of worship for Lord Shiva. The site of the Mantup Temple is also estimated to be a relic of the 9th century.

The site that I think is unique because there are 3 structures that might be a Perwara temple, but the size is quite small. The materials used are also varied, including andesite, white stone, and red brick. Inside the fence there are also several loose finds, reportedly they were from around the mantup site.
