β β β β β Walking through here with co-workers and spend lunch time. The I like the noodle here and the taste is good. The flavour of chicken is ok and not very fishy. For chinese people who seek the best "bakmi", I recommend it.

β β β β β One of the best halal chicken noodles which has been in business since 1960 ??????
The noodle has similar style with Bakmi Alok but it is less chewy & has slightly smaller size. The topping is boiled chicken with choices of thigh & breast part. The soup is so delicious as it has fresh aroma of chicken broth, perfect companion for the noodle. Tried the gizzards (ati ampla) as well & they were so tender, a must-have topping to complete your noodle time. The gyoza (pangsit) & suikiaw had nothing out of the ordinary though.
The place is casual & open-air so be prepared to get hot & sweaty ?

β β β β β Bakmi Ayam Acang is a legendary steamed chicken noodle at Grogol, West Jakarta since 1960Β that opens every Tuesday to Sunday (closes on Monday) from 06.30 AM - 02.00 PM. It is located in a residential area of Grogol.Β Since more and more customer will come, so that is better for you to come earlier in the morning to avoid the crowd and difficulty in finding a parking. On the table, they provide us with variant of Bakso Goreng (Fried Meatball) and Siomay that we could choose and eat as we like. What a big temptation ?
Here are what we tried :
Bakmi Ayam in regular size (IDR 35,000)
Beside regular, they also provide jumbo size for IDR 60,000. The serving is so simple. A bowl of chewy noodle with thick and tender steamed chicken. The broth, lettuce, and spring onions are served separately. Do not forget to add the broth because the noodle will taste more delicious! Recommended!
Suikiaw 5 pcs (IDR 30,000)
Suikiaw in a solid filling with shrimp and vegetables, served with the chicken broth. Good presentation and great taste that similar with dimsum taste.

β β β β β Not as good as it used to. Owner's cheap daughter-in-law might ruin this awesome establishment. The soup is getting more diluted, the noodle size is smaller, less chicken, even the chilli sauce is not as good as before...

Bakmi Acang is one of the oldest noodle sellers in the Grogol area because it has been selling it since 1969. Initially, Loa Uncang worked to help his uncle push a cart selling noodles. In the late 1960s, his uncle passed away, so Loa Uncang thought about continuing his uncle's business. At first he sold noodles using a mobile cart, until in 1973 he only occupied the building and did not sell around anymore. Loa Uncang sells with the help of Alok, who will later open Bakmi Alok. Not surprisingly, the noodles in these two places have similar characteristics. Similar but not the same.
There are three bowls on the table, the first is a bowl of noodles, while the remaining two are bowls of gravy and a bowl of fresh lettuce. The appearance of the noodle dish is very simple, there is only noodles with pieces of boiled chicken on it.
The texture of the noodles is different between Alok, Acing, and Alung. Three noodle restaurants that both serve boiled chicken noodles in Grogol. The noodles used are not βbakmi karetβ, but smooth noodles which are slightly thicker than regular smooth noodles, so the texture of the noodles is not as thick as the rubber noodles.
While the presentation of the boiled chicken is also not accompanied by the skin, it's really only the meat. If we want skin we have to ask for it again.
The taste of the noodles is quite good. The seasoning uses chicken oil, but it is mixed well so that the noodles are fragrant and taste delicious. In terms of taste, what distinguishes Acang noodles from the three noodles mentioned above is the use of pepper. The aroma of pepper in Acang noodles is quite strong. The chicken meat used is boiled chicken meat, boiled well so that the texture is soft.
Fresh lettuce is also quite interesting, because usually noodle dishes use boiled green mustard or boiled dumplings.
The broth is very delicious, it doesn't use too much MSG so it feels more natural.
Indeed, the aroma of the broth is not overwhelming, but the taste of the broth is enough to satisfy our appetite. Don't forget to add chili sauce which has a spicy and sour taste to add dimension to the taste.
