β β β β β BEST PORK RICE IVE EVER HAD. AMAZING. KING OF ALL PORK RICE. chasio is amazingly tender and juicy, well seasoned. sausage is lapchiong-like, unique taste. nasi hainam? so fragrant and doesnt stand too much(so not to ruin the other ingredients) top it with some pork crisp and pickles for acidity? amazing. just amazing.

β β β β β Been wanting to try Akar since it first opened and got to finally try it after 3months! Located in the senopati area (opposite F45 senopati), street parking and valet available. Akar is a great place for group meals (reunion with friends or families).
Akar serves indonesian fusion foods, and the night we were there..we ordered heaps. Almost, almost everything from their extensive menu. The dishes show how creative the chef is in mixing the ingredients and taste of Indonesian cuisines. He's also able to make everyday food like rendang to be more interesting.
MUST try dishes here are: Kremes tacos, Ngohiong Sayap, rendang 48 and bebek betutu.
Be prepared for an adventure for your palate and tummy!

β β β β β As if finding a hidden gem!
I found it first accidentally and decided to give it a try .
It is located in the middle of Gunawarman street, right before the small park and just after ZEN.
Atmosphere wise, a friendly and inviting neighborhood dining with a warm and lush green feelings.
Food was fantastic and always delicious, showing the kitchen team's consistency.
The menu and the restaurant itself are based on Indonesian dishes which is rich on spices, and sometimes one spice can overpower the taste of another if not used correctly.
Yet we found all the meals well balanced and even make some as our favorites such as:
-Kremes Tacos (Ox tounge with green chili paste)
-Tusukne Lilit (Minced Chicken on Lemongrass Skewer)
-Pork Bun
-Mapo Tofu Belacan
-Babi Kencur (Pork with Galangal Paste)
-Nasi Betutu (Balinese style rice)
-Bayangan Pantai (dessert)
The bar menu was curated with interesting house made cocktails that represent traditional Indonesian concoction bev such as "jamu", and some others that heavily influenced with turmeric based drinks.
On 2nd visit, we've got the chance to -BYOB-, and found the foods were deliciously paired with a dry Sparkling brut. Too bad they are not having any flute glass. Add for room of improvement to be noted.
Another plus point, well lit and clean restroom ;)
Overall, will sure be back, and also highly recommended.
My colleagues satisfy with the place, and some friends also loves it!

β β β β β The foods are all interesting and everything that we ordered were delicious. My favorite is the barramundi sweet and sour fish soup. It tastes superb. The owner is very friendly and he even gave us free dessert and also the famous keremes tacos. And the keremes taco is also very unique and delicious. Recommended for office and family event place. Btw, the songs playlist made it even more enjoyable. All the famous indonesian songs from 90s! Cool!

β β β β β Akar is located on Jalan Gunawarman which normally has heavy traffic. Because it is located on the second floor, without a clear signboard, you can easily miss this restaurant.
This restaurant serves Indonesian cuisine with an international touch and beautiful presentation.
We went there for lunch and ordered the folliwing:
Appetizer:
Sambal mangga muda kecombrang
Lidah
Sate kulit ayam crispy
Sate Lilit
Main Course
Rendang 48
Rawon Buntut
Dessert:
Bayangan Pantai
All dishes were really tasty and satisfying.

Itβs suit for you who appreciate creativity. They have different meal even though the name is same. For example Rendang. They make rendang with different spices and presentation.
Parking is a bit difficult.
Location in the second level of the building.
