★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely delicious east javanese cuisine. The Nasi Rawon Empal is one of the best Nasi Rawon in Greater Jakarta Area. You can also try ayam penyet or iga penyet, they are both also tasty; and the price are very reasonable

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tradional Food origin from Surabaya, always crowd in lunch and dinner time, their signature is called “Empal suwir with Bakwan penyet” (i dont think I can translate in english).
The restaurants is clean and the food is very tasty with affordable price. But be mind of the spicy level of Sambal

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Warung Bu Kris is my favorite warung penyet. Their ribs, chicken, stomach, lungs, bakso, empal, and even their pecel, gado-gado, and lontong cap gomeh is very delicious. The price is cheap too if you compare with other places.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of the best place to eat "penyet food" in Jakarta, Penyet Food is a traditional Javanese Dish (and also Sundanese), it's focus is the plate of Sambal (crushed chilly serving, with spiciness can be adjusted to your liking) then what's on top of it depends on what you feel like eating at the moment. Warung Bu Kris serves almost anything on top of the sambal, from chicken (fried or grilled), Indonesian omelette, meatballs, beef cuts to variety of cows intestine cuts. They also serve other javanese rice and soup dish.
My Favorite is the mixed penyet set and the Fried Bandeng (Milkfish) set...
The price is very reasonable, except for the Milkfish it to s quite expensive compare to the others, but it is very very good. And since it is located ins a commercial block, parking is plenty. The waiters are very knowledgeable in the things on the menu, and service is ver good and fast.
Been here many times, always get my tummy very full afterwards
