Mie jawa (biasanya mie godog) di Jawa Tengah memang cukup menjadi makanan favorite. Dari pedagang kaki lima sampai restaurant pun cukup banyak yg menjual menu ini. Pas kebetulan lagi di kota magelang, nyobain salah satu warung mie godog. Langsung deh meluncir ke daerah pengkon (dulu terkenal dengan banyak kuliner), sampe sana akhirnya pilih warung yang paling rame dan jatuh lah keputusan di Warung Bakmi Pak Gareng. Secara rasa cukup oke dan entah kenapa kuahnya cukup seger haha Selain itu di sini menyediakan menu lain seperti nasi goreng, mie goreng, nasi godog, kwetiau goreng, bihun goreng dll. Oya Pak Gareng ini memiliki 2 keistimewaan. Pertama ada di cara masaknya yg masih pakai tungku dan areng (can you imagine , jaman now gini masih pakai kaya begituan *applause deh sama warung ini). Cara masak ini akhirnya membuat tercipta satu aroma dan cita rasa khas yg menggugah selera. Keistimewaan ke dua ada di kecapnya yg masih pakai kecap lokal loh (merk nya kalkun, kalau mau beli bisa ke pasar Tukangan tersedia dalam bentuk botolan & refillnya juga ?). Kecap kalkun ini cenderung encer dan ngga yg manis banget. dengan 2 keistimewaan yg dipadukan dalam satu piring, bisa bayangin kan gimana nikmatnya mie ini. FYI kalau ke sini musti sabar ya karena untuk menjaga kualitas rasanya, Pak Gareng memasaknya ngga dalam porsi besar (maks.2 porsi) selain itu juga musti siap ngantri bareng pengunjung lainnya.

Javanese noodles (usually godog noodles) in Central Java are indeed quite a favorite food. From street vendors to restaurants, there are quite a few who sell this menu. When I happened to be in the city of Magelang, I tried one of the godog noodle stalls. Immediately he popped into the Pengkon area (used to be famous for its many culinary delights), until there finally chose the most crowded shop and the decision fell at Warung Bakmi Pak Gareng. The taste is quite okay and for some reason the sauce is quite fresh haha. Besides that, here it provides other menus such as fried rice, fried noodles, rice godog, fried kwetiau, fried rice noodles etc. Oh, Mr. Gareng has 2 features. First, there is the cooking method which still uses the stove and areng (can you imagine, nowadays we still use it like that * applaud this shop). This method of cooking finally creates a distinctive aroma and taste that is appetizing. The second specialty is the soy sauce which still uses local soy sauce (the brand is turkey, if you want to buy it, you can go to the Tukangan market, available in bottled form & refill too). This turkey sauce tends to be runny and not very sweet. with 2 features combined in one plate, can you imagine how delicious these noodles are. FYI, if you come here, you have to be patient because to maintain the quality of the taste, Mr. Gareng doesn't cook it in large portions (max. 2 portions) besides that, he must be ready to queue with other visitors.

Menu kesukaan saya disini adalah nasi goreng magelangan, yaitu nasi campur mie yang digoreng dan bakmi godognya (bakmi kuah).
Masakan disini mantap rasanya, dimasaknya pun masih menggunakan tungku arang, tradisional banget yah... tapi itu salah satu faktor yang membuat masakan disini jadi spesial.
Jadi kebayang dengan hawanya magelang yang cenderung adem sambil makan mie godognya yang hangat ditemani segelas teh hangat hmm... rasanya enak banget...

This Bakmi Pak Gareng stall is included in the list of favorite places to eat in Magelang for me.
My favorite menu here is the magelangan fried rice, which is rice mixed with fried noodles and the Bakmi Godog (noodle soup).
The food here tastes great, it's still cooked using a charcoal stove, it's very traditional... but that's one of the factors that makes the food here so special.
So imagine the air in Magelang which tends to be cool while eating the warm Godog noodles accompanied by a glass of warm tea hmm... it tastes really good...
