Kecamatan Turi merupakan wilayan kecamatan paling utara di Kabupaten Sleman, yang berbatasan langsung dengan Kabupaten Magelang, Jawa Tengah. Jarak Ibukota Kecamatan ke Pusat Pemerintahan (Ibukota) Kabupaten Sleman adalah 8 Km. Lokasi ibu kota kecamatan Turi berada di 7.65200‘ LS dan 110.36990‘ BT. Kantor Kecamatan Turi berada di Jl. Turi-Tempel Km.2, Kiringan, Wonokerto.
Wilayah kecamatan Turi berupa dataran tinggi dengan ketinggian 50-2.500 m dpl. Luas Wilayah Kecamatan Turi adalah 43.09 km2, dan terdiri dari empat desa, yaitu Bangunkerto, Donokerto, Girikerto dan Wonokerto. Jumlah penduduk yang mendiami kecamatan ini adalah 34.950 jiwa (2007) yang terbagi dalam 9.932 Kepala Keluarga. Di kecamatan ini terdapat 16 TK, 21 SD, 5 SLTP, dan 3 SLTA.
Di wilayah ini dikembangkan beberapa objek wisata untuk mengembangkan potensi masyarakat setempat. Contohnya adalah agrowisata salak pondoh di Dusun Gadung, Desa Bangunkerto, desa wisata di Dusun Kembangarum, Desa Donokerto, dan pembiakan kambing PE (Peranakan Etawa) di Dusun Nganggring, Desa Girikerto. sumber wikipedia
Turi is a district in Sleman Regency, Special Province of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Turi District is the northernmost subdistrict in Sleman Regency, which borders directly with Magelang Regency, Central Java. Distance of the Capital District to the Government Center (Capital) of Sleman Regency is 8 Km. The location of the capital city of Turi sub-district is 7.65200 ‘LS and 110.36990‘ BT. The Turi District Office is located at Jl. Turi-Tempel Km.2, Kiringan, Wonokerto.
Turi sub-district area is in the form of a plateau with an altitude of 50-2,500 m above sea level. The area of Turi District is 43.09 km2, and consists of four villages, namely Bangunkerto, Donokerto, Girikerto and Wonokerto. The number of inhabitants who inhabit this district is 34,950 people (2007) which is divided into 9,932 families. In this district there are 16 kindergartens, 21 elementary schools, 5 junior high schools, and 3 high schools.
In this area, several tourism objects have been developed to develop the potential of the local community. Ada juga Kembanglangit, kembangarum, wisata air Pulesari, dan banyak lagi yang lain, yang biasanya dilengkapi dengan tempat yang bisa dibuat acara "out bond", wahanya ya.g sejuk sangat mendukung dan menyegarkan tubuh.
