I have been buying this Soto since I am a student in State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. I knew from my friend that he comes from Lamongan. He says, the right way to enjoy Soto Lamongan is by the chicken bones or called "Soto Balungan" added by chili sauce, and do not add soy sauce.
