★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A friend of mine, from Surabaya, recomended me to have Soto ayam ambengan here, this restaurant " Soto ayam Ambengan Pak Sadi". Actually I couldn't find out where was the " soto ayam ambengan" which she strongly recommended, but when I asked one of employee there, he told me " soto ayam biasa(normal)" and "soto komplit (complete)". Anyway I tried komplit and it was bagus with lime and mysterious poweder(ingredients are garlic and shrimp).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My family most favourite Soto Ambengan in town. They have another East Java food on their menu such as Rujak Cingur, Tahu Telor, Tahu Campur, and Rawon. The taste is good, the price quite high for traditional menu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best East Java restaurant in Jakarta, bit pricey, but it's worth it. They also quite clean & neat,during large scale social distancing (PSBB) they only served for take out. But...if in normal condition, better be hurry if you want to dine in, cos its always full during the day

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Because of the price of soto ayam biasa is expensive here, 50k excluding 10% tax, I had a high expectation, however, the taste was not so amazing.
A small restaurant near my office in scbd also serves soto ayam ambengan, a bowl of soto ayam and a portion of rice is only 29k, the price here is 66k (soto 50k, rice 10k, tax 6k), the taste in that restaurant is almost the same with the taste here, soto ayam without santan, and big slice chicken meat.
Es markisa seemed to be made from concentrated juice or what, instead of fresj juice, cost 18k without tax.
The atmosphere here is quiet, in dinner hours, only a customer and I having a meal here.
The pricing strategy is a little bit strange, usually the price for the same food in food delivery app is more expensive than having it in the restaurant, on the contrary, dinning in at this restaurant is more expensive, for instance, soto ayam is 38k in app, while 50k for dinning in, rice is 6k in app, while 10k for dinning in.
The staff in batik and wear songkok is a feature to see for a foreigner like me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good soto place when you miss soto ayam koya and soto madura from east java. Taste quite similliar compared to the OG. Decent flavor, comforting, reasonable portion but price considered high (45-50k for each portion of soto)
I also love how they providing side dish such as kerupuk, emping, paru, tempe, tahu, otak, perkedel. Revisit? maybe. considering i have to pay 50k++ for soto ayam ? too expensive
