★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worth to try this iconic chicken soup in Yogyakarta. Basically the taste of the soup is little bit sweet. But it will be well combination if we add the salty red chille paste in the soup. The spicy sensation of this food make you being addicted with it. You also can mix with additinal part of chicken meat. This place also iconic since the place also right in the corner of the street and the trafic light. So it is an epic experience to eat and make eye to eye contact with stranger that stoped there. This place is crowded in daily basis since it quite well known. Best partner for this rainny day

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s a chicken soup but with red broth! Cost you around 25K per soup. You need to choose your own chicken and stuff to be put in the soup. Very refreshing. Parking with car might be a problem, you’ll need to walk to get to Sop Merah.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very tasty-spicy chicken soup. We can combine the fillings as we like. The broth was really tasty. But sometimes we have to get in line, it's really crowded when in dinner time. The waiting time was paid off by the taste of the soup. And the price was affordable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best soup in town! You will find spicy chicken soup with customisable additional fillings. Both taste and price are good. The place is right at the corner of a t-junction and they don't have enough parking space. Better to drive your motorbike here than a car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must-visit whenever I came to Jogja, and I always go for the red soup base. Heard that the red (or orange, I must say) color is coming from chili peppers. But don’t expect it to be spicy. For me it’s just mildly hot, as if it was seasoned with proper amount of pepper. The soup itself comes with shredded chicken, a boiled egg, carrot, cabbage, and chopped leeks, but I always add 2 pcs of chicken thighs to be put into the soup, just so that I can have the juicy chunks. Perfect dinner!
