SMK 1 Gedangsari merupakan salah satu Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan di gunungkidul dengan luas sekolah 9.122 m2, yang memiliki empat bidang jurusan diantaranya yaitu Elektronika Audio-Video, Elektronika Industri, Automotif serta Bisnis Daring dan Pemasaran. Di SMKN 1 Gedangsari kini memiliki murid sebanyak 455 siswa yang terdiri dari 134 siswa di jurusan Bisnis Daring dan Pemasaran, 139 siswa di jurusan Elektronika Industri dan 184 siswa di jurusan Teknik dan Bisnis Sepeda Motor.
