★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice beach, not too crowded. Good for weekend vacation and camping. Located in the south of Yogyakarta, about 3-4 hours using car/ motor bike. At the beach there is stairs so we can go up to a hill (Bukit Pengilon) and get awesome view of the ocean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful and exotic beach at Gunung Kidul region. Quite far from Yogyakarta, about 2.5 hours but is easily located and many signs.
No public transport available, so prepare for private/rent car.
Locates just 5-10 minutes away by car, we can go to Nglambor (not exactly a beach, just shallow water for snorkeling) and Jogan (to see river water fall directly to ocean).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is not a large beach, relatively small and quite far from human settlement. Used as a fisherman dock, i believe for quite long time, because you can find a fish market there. But this place is amazingly calm. I can literally enjoying myself, take a sit and feel the sunset. Several amenities like toilet also available, and there is a photo spot right in the middle of the sea, but you should paid 25.000 idr though. By way of conclusion, interesting beach to visit, if you love and want to enjoy your loneliness

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I suggest you to prepare everything before visit the Gunung Kidul beaches. Maybe you can find hotel when you browsing on the internet around the area, but in fact its hard for me to find a hotel. Yes i am not well prepared. It's my first time and It's just me and my friend just the both of us by motorcycle from st. Lempuyangan all the way to Gn. Kidul only with Google Maps. Took 3 hour for us to reach gunung kidul regency and took around 1hour to reach each beach. The road is a little dangerous,so you need to be careful and watch your speed.
From my experience, Siung beach maybe not a popular one like Wedi Ombo, but the scenery is great. There is no hotel near the beach, the tourist often choose to do camp in a tent by the beach. But remember, sometimes the wave is pretty big and it could be dangerous.
The toilets facilities is pretty bad, although there are many toilets but i cant seem to find a clean one.
But most of all, i like Gunung Kidul so much, the beaches are very pure and natural and give you the best scenery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pantai Siung is hidden treasure in Gunung Kidul (Yogyakarta). The beach view was beautiful, clean and I never feel the freshness of the beach water like in this place! Truly amazing experience. The only thing missing on this place, there's no cell receptions (all Indonesian provider), so you'll enjoy the place without any internet. The people are nice too, highly recommended. If you are around Yogyakarta, go to southern mountains (Gunung Kidul) to feel many of beautiful hidden beach like this!
