★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious Sambal, Sundanese specialties, wet fried chicken. This restaurant is located in the rest area complex, not far from the Karawang Barat toll gate. Serving Sundanese specialties, and has a mainstay menu of wet fried chicken. From all the food dishes, the most famous of these places is the taste of sauce or "Sambal'. Sambal which is a favorite of visitors is "Sambal Hijau" and "Sambal Dadak". The dining area is quite spacious and clean, there is a wide parking area of the vehicle because it is located in the rest area complex. Food prices are slightly more expensive when compared to the quality of the taste of food, and when compared to competitors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is kind of sundanese restaurant in Karawang. The place is not far from Karawang Barat Tol Gate and other hotels. Some of the vegetables look not really interesting to eat as it is overcooked, except tauge and kangkung kinds of vegs. Those vegs are cooked when the guests order it. The gurame cobek is re-heated. It take just few seconds to be reserved, yet the taste is still good.
However, the service and environment are so quite and comfortable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Like its name, the restaurant serves great sambal. Spicy and delicious. The ambience is nice with Sundanese atmosphere as the majority. But there are a lot of mosquitos in the night :(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sambal Hejo is one of the best Sundanese restaurant in Karawang, you can easily find it after you exit from toll road from Jakarta or Bandung. The place is proper, has spacious parking lot, it has both non air conditioned dining room and air conditioned dining room.
The price is quite expensive, but you get what you have pay. Like typical Sundanese restaurant, they serve menu on your table and you only pay that you eat exclude menu you choose. P.S. if you ask for juice menu, ask them first juice is made from real fruits or not, some juice menu is processed juice.
The taste and service are very nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The setting is good with ample seating. But in Indonesia you have to be patient with cigarette smoke. The seats are wooden chairs which are not that comfortable. Sundanese food is not among our favourites (as opposed to padang food). Overall, this is just an average food joint, but it's great for groups if food is not on priority list.
