This special place's located at Jalan Srengseng Sawah No.13, RT 1 / RW 7, Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta 12630.
Saung Bang Pitung is precisely located on the edge of Setu Babakan from the side of Jalan Srengseng Sawah fields. From the edge of the Setu in front of this eating place we can take a look at the side of Setu which is adjacent to the road Muhammad Kahfi II.
Saung Bang Pitung is specially designed with the nuances of Sunda, which is a semi-permanent building 3/4 part of the top structure woven from bamboo.
Between the long aisles toward the owner's house, there are two sides of the long-braided dining area with a short table and a short bench that looks like a Japanese dinner table.
With bamboo all-round interior like this we really feel comfortable to enjoy the inside of Saung Bang Pitung.
The menu available here is very complete almost entirely of Betawi food, ranging from Ayam Kampung Penyet, Gurame fish packet, Beef Ribs soup, Pindang Patin, Karedok, Sayur Asem, Jengkol Aisye etc. Refreshment drinks after meal is coconut ice that's widely available here beside beer pletok typical Betawi.
Although there's not a sitting room at the front of the whole that's for parking lots, but walking a little way ahead, we can already sit back at the edge of the Setu Babakan by utilizing the benches of other culinary traders who pretty much lined the front road that crosses the saung Bang Pitung. Also this saung provides digital organ music, in addition to enjoying the home sung band saung Bang Pitung, we can also donate our voice here.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is really comfortable and very suitable to gather with friends, family, even our girlfriend. The price of the set food was moderate. The highest package is still below the IDR 50,000 and the bottom of IDR 10,000. Which feels a little less like the Betawi food itself. It's should be able to provide all the Betawi menus, whether it's Tauge goreng, Laksa or any kind of Betawi food that's almost drowned in eating time.
However, saung Bang Pitung is worth a visit. I suggest after obtaining enough tourist information from UPK PBB office, we better to this saung first as a second destination before exploring the cultural village of Betawi Setu Babakan, Jagakarsa, south Jakarta.
