Walaupun ada perusahaan besar seperti Pertamina Balongan ini, Kabupaten Indramayu sendiri bertahun-tahun tetap saja seperti kabupaten yang gersang akan sumber daya alam maupun manusianya. Hal itu kontras dengan predikat yang diemban sebagai salahsatu kilang minyak terkemuka di Asia.
Most who work here from outside Indramayu, are known by the community as less empowering the surrounding local Indramayu community. Even though there is a large company like Pertamina Balongan, the Indramayu Regency itself has remained for years like an arid district of natural and human resources. This contrasts with the predicate that is held as one of the leading oil refineries in Asia.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Salah satu unit pengolahan minyak milik pertamina. Lumayan jauh dari pusat kota indramayu, sekitar 15 menit menggunakan motor kalau santai. Satu-satunya kendaraan umum untuk kesini adalah menggunakan angkutan berupa mobil ELF yang tersedia 24 jam, tapi makin malam makin susah dicari.
One of Pertamina's oil processing units. Fairly far from downtown Indramayu, about 15 minutes using a motorcycle when relaxed. The only public transportation to come here is to use transportation in the form of an ELF car that is available 24 hours, but the more difficult the night is harder to find.
