★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place too cool down after tough steep climbing with the MTB bike. The best road leading upto the observation post is the road far North West closest running parallell with the road to "Ketepas". Roads which run close to river valleys are usuallu used by the trucks to bring sand and rocks so the trucks are destroying the roads and it gets full of holes in it. There is a nice forest track you can walk up from post. It leads all the way upto the Mountain Merapi. BRING DRINKING WATER !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We revisited this place after 12 years ago. Some buildings near the location exist. There are bigger available parking spaces and even a stall near an entrance driveway.
Met an officer and got some quick explanations about the latest mountain explosion.
I suggest anyone who wants to go here, not to use Jalan Babadan, because this road is used intensively by sand and rock trucks (dec. 2019). It looks like a combination of a trail and an off road.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's one of the best vantage points to snap pic or just watch the magnificent Mt Merapi, when the sky is clear. Negative is on some buildings that lack of maintenance.
