Selama di sini, para pasien diurus layaknya keluarga sendiri, termasuk dalam urusan pangan dan sandang. Pengurus sering mendatangkan relawan dari kalangan dokter atau perawat untuk memantau kesehatan para pasien. Di pondok, para pasien akan dibimbing agar tetap produktif, mereka diajarkan berkebun dan membatik, hasil batiknya dapat dijual.
