★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Salah satu dusun di wilayah Desa Bleberan, Kecamatan Playen, Kabupaten Gunungkidul merupakan tempat untuk menampung benda-benda cagar budaya yang ditemukan di seluruh wilayah Kecamatan Playen dan sekitarnya sejak tahun 1998.
Menurut data yang tertera di papan informasi di lokasi, benda-benda cagar budaya tersebut, kurang lebih berjumlah 57 buah, terdiri dari 23 buah menhir, 1 buah, kepala menhir, 28 buah peti kubur batu, 2 buah patok peti kubur batu, dan 3 buah batu kenong.
Desa Bleberan ditetapkan sebagai tempat penampungan benda cagar budaya wilayah Kecamatan Playen karena di Dusun Bleberan ditemukan menhir yang masih utuh dan insitu sehingga harus dipertahankan sesuai aslinya. Menhir merupakan batu tegak berasal dari budaya megalitik yang merupakan objek pemujaan. Kadangkala dalam menhir terdapat pahatan berbentuk tubuh manusia. Pada umumnya menhir ditancapkan dalam posisi tegak, namun demikian ada pula yang telentang. Jenis menhir dalam posisi telentang di Sumatera disebut sebagai batu mayat, batu bedil, atau batu meriam.
Jadi untuk warga Yogyakarta, beruntung kita tidak perlu jauh-jauh ke daerah lain untuk melihat bukti kehidupan zaman prasejarah, ternyata di Gunungkidul ada lho!
 One of the hamlets in the Bleberan Village area, Playen District, Gunungkidul Regency is a place to accommodate cultural heritage objects found throughout Playen District and its surroundings since 1998.
According to the data listed on the information board at the location, there are approximately 57 cultural heritage objects, consisting of 23 menhirs, 1 head, 28 menhirs, 28 stone grave crates, 2 stone grave pegs, and 3 kenong stone.
Bleberan Village was designated as a place to hold cultural heritage objects in the Playen District area because in Bleberan Hamlet there were found menhirs that were still intact and in situ so they had to be preserved in accordance with the original. Menhirs are upright stones originating from a megalithic culture which is an object of worship. Sometimes in menhirs there are carvings in the shape of a human body. In general, the menhirs are plugged in an upright position, but some are supine. This type of menhirs in a supine position in Sumatra is referred to as corpse stones, rifles, or cannon stones.
So for the people of Yogyakarta, fortunately we don't have to go far to other areas to see evidence of prehistoric life, it turns out that Gunungkidul has you!

Pada situs ini ditemukan menhir yang masih utuh dan insitu, tinggi 408cm, lebar 33cm dan tebal 27cm. Secara keseluruhan terdapat 57 benda cagar budaya dari Kecamatan Playen dan sekitarnya yang ditampung pada situs ini.
The Bleberan shelter site has been used since 1988 to accommodate cultural heritage objects from the Playen area. It is about 1,146m2 in area.
