★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After I tried more than 7 restaurants and food stalls provides"pempek" in Bogor and surounding, finally I found the most tasties pempek in Bogor: Pempek Soematra, located at Barbarung Raya No. 46. The pempek originaly and sent directly from Palembang (the Pempek City). So the taste and ingridients are authenticity guaranteed. The taste of pempek is soft and moist plus the vinegar (cuko) feels light and fresh (not feel sharp in the mouth) so it feels light in the stomach. In my opinion this pempek is suitable for all people including foreigners.
Although the taste of "cuko" is lighter but its still rich of the authenticity.
Another menu is Lenggang, that cooked with slight modification. The original Lenggang was cooked by wrapped in banana leaves then slowly grilled, that more complicated. To make simple, the lenggang is fried on teflon without cooking oil, but the taste still soft and moist, also the inside of lenggang is soft and moist too. I think the lenggang filled by "pentol of tekwan" (not "lenjer" as another lenjer do).
My favorite dish is "tekwan". The soup of tekwan is rich in spices but feels light and refreshing, plus the "pentol of tekwan" are very soft and savory, that making this dish really delicious.
All dishes comes with fresh cucumber slices.
The restaurant have indoor and outdoor seating which are equiped by furniture from IKEA. The indoor seating are dominated by white color, clean, and comfortable for hang out.
I highly recommend this restaurant for "pempek" lover.
Note:
I brought home a bag of frozen pempek. The next day I cook in three ways: fried by cooking oil, by air fryer, and by steamed.
Amazingly the three of them produce delicious and yummy pempek. Cooking by steamed and by air fryer made the taste of the fish is tastier and softer.
