★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gunung Kidul has so many beautiful scenery and hidden gems... Beaches are so special.. one of them is Watukodok beach... the place isn't so crowded, make relax, but the road to get there needs repaired.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Already 2 times I came to this beach. This beach is close to the Sepanjang beach. This beach is great for camping. This beach has a great view. The waves are not too big and the beach sand is smooth. @thesunrise98

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ White coral sandy beach caters to young and oldies.
A lovely strech with 1 side with coral area - safe for small children to swim and have a bath and the other side for good wavy beach.
It can cater all level of age - bear in mind that walking in deep sand is quite tiring for some old people.
Access road from main road is quite bumpy rocky one. 700m to reach the beach may need extra caution driving as the road is not asphalt one but rather rocky and cemented pavement. Be careful and you'll be fine. I drove odyssey and it required a very very very extra slow drive.
Parking is easy and will not require far walking to the front beach. For cars, it is 5K IDR.
Eating stalls are available for few vendors, public toilets as well praying area.
Cabanas are available but rather far from the water. Bring your own beach chairs or beach mat for max enjoyment.
You can access all up to the big rock for taking some good pictures - add access may cost you no harm.
You can camp here. Bring your own or rent a tent for 50K. Else - there are some villas to rent.
Overall - a recommended spot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Watu Kodok Beach in Tanjungsari District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region was named after a frog-like stone there. It has a nice view to the open Indian Ocean with pandan (screw pine) trees, and the shore is a popular ground among young people for camping. Food shops offer simple foods, drinks and clean toilets. The East flank has a challenging but popular site for rock fishing, and an exotic restaurant on a hill with a beautiful view to the neighbouring Drini Beach. The North side is hilly and has a community learning center with an exotic building. The path from the main road to the beach needs to be improved. A separate musholla (moslem prayer place) and more toilets are needed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wide astonishing sloping down beach with splendid view of coral hills and white sand. There are also some shady areas for you to roll out the mat and have some picnic. The access to beach is now smoother. Cars can park right in front of the beach. Some food stalls selling instant noodles are also available in case your tummy is in emergency. The toilets are quite clean too. Some trash bins needs to be added. Plastic waste can still be found scattered in the beach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ White sand, clean, breezy wind, small sawungs selling indomie. Perfect! Not so crowded here. Pinched by 2 hills, so you can hike up and see the vew from above. Next beside the hill is a virgin beach. Even more empty, if you want some really quite place to enjoy the nature.
