Notaris adalah Pejabat Umum yang berwenang untuk membuat Akta Otentik mengenai semua perbuatan, perjanjian, dan ketetapan yang diharuskan oleh peraturan perundang-undangan dan/atau yang dikehendaki oleh yang berkepentingan untuk dinyatakan dalam akta otentik, menjamin kepastian tanggal pembuatan akta, menyimpan akta, memberikan grosee, salinan dan kutipan akta, semuanya itu sepanjang pembuatan akta-akta itu tidak juga ditugaskan atau dikecualikan kepada pejabat lain atau orang lain yang ditetapkan oleh Undang-undang.

Definition of Notary
A Notary is a Public Official authorized to make Authentic Deeds regarding all acts, agreements, and rulings required by legislation and/or required by interested parties to be stated in authentic deeds, guarantee certainty of the date of making deeds, keep deeds, grant grosee , copies and quotations of the acts, all of which throughout the making of the acts are also not assigned or exempted to other offices or other persons prescribed by Law.
